The Association for Canadian Clinical Legal Education conferred two of its three annual awards to Windsor Law professors for their dedication to clinical legal education.

In the Spring of 2006, the Centre of Law in Aid of Development and Canadian American Research Centre for Law and Policy were amalgamated, creating the Transnational Law and Justice Network (TLJN) at Windsor Law.

Professor Vasanthi Venkatesh says a ruling made by the Federal Court of Canada last week will make it easier for those looking to apply for refugee status at Canadian borders.
"It's a momentous decision," Professor Venkatesh told CBC's Windsor Morning on Friday, adding that advocates have pushed for this for a long time.

As Windsor-Essex moves towards reopening, the Government of Ontario announced a temporary foreign workers' plan which includes on-site testing at agri-farm businesses; allowing migrant workers access to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board benefits and protections under the Employment Standards Act; and new public health guidance for asymptomatic workers allowing them to continue working outdoors in isolation.

The Ontario Legislature is back in session. For the next three days, the Standing Committee on Justice Policy is hearing from and questioning witnesses about Bill 161, an omnibus bill that proposes changes to several statutes, including the Class Proceedings Act, Legal Aid, and others.

2017 has proven to be an exciting year for Windsor Law’s LLM program. The program honoured its first graduate, Britney DeCosta, during the fall convocation ceremony.
DeCosta, who graduated from the University of Windsor with a joint MSW/JD degree in 2016, was one of four LLM students in the first cohort that started in the fall of 2016.
