Have You Asked? is the University of Windsor's sexual consent campaign. This campaign is a part of the Prevent Resist Support comprehensive strategy for addressing campus-based sexual violence, by The Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Resistance, and Support.
Have You Asked? invites you to think about yourself and the other person.
- Everyone has the right to bodily autonomy, dignity, and respect.
- This means, we all get to decide whether we say yes or no.
- No one deserves to be pressured or forced into having sex they don't want.
- Everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable.
You can ask yourself: | Now, think about the other person: |
---|---|

When it comes to consent, we should also think about:
- Do they have the presence of mind to consent to this?
- Are they awake or conscious for this activity?
- Are the too drunk or high to participate?
- Is there a power dynamic that would complicate consent?
Remember:
- Just because they haven't said "no" doesn't means it's yes - consent means an enthusiastic yes!
- They need to feel safe to say no - if they are saying yes because they feel pressured, threatened, or coerced, it's not really a yes.
- They can change their mind at any time.
- Consent to sexual activity at one time doesn't mean it's consent to sexual activity the next time.
