The Office of Sexual Violence hosts a variety of events throughout the school year. We host a few ongoing events, like our Survivors & Supporters series, or our Queer Sex Ed workshop, but we're also always adding new events, like live podcast recordings!

Advocating for Social Change:  A Bystander Outreach Event

Social Work Students!! The Bystander Initiative will be in the lobby of the Social Work Building to chat with students about our workshops and courses as a professional development opportunity.  Join us to learn about how taking a Bystander Initiative workshop can be advantageous for your future career as a social worker!


The Flip the Script with EAAA™ program

Date/Time:  Four Tuesdays:  March 5, March 12, March 19, & March 26 at 5:30-9:00pm

The Flip the Script with EAAA™ program is a 12-hour evidence-based rape resistance workshop developed by UWindsor’s Dr. Charlene Senn and the SARE Centre. This program was designed for young women at Universities, and is typically offered to women who are 26 and under.

Celebration of Nations

Celebration of Nations will be celebrating with the University of Windsor community to highlight and enrich cultural diversity within the University campus and the Windsor-Essex community.  The Bystander Initiative will be there with a booth and resources!  To learn more, visit www.uwindsor.ca/nations.

International Women's Day Vendor Fair

Come celebrate International Women's Day by supporting different women-owned businesses in Windsor-Essex at the annual IWD Vendor Fair hosted by the Womxn's Centre!  Shop for vintage clothing, homemade ceramics and jewelry, warm snacks, and much more!

"Man Enough" Workshop

Wen-Do Women's Self-Defence (subsidized for members of the UWindsor community)

Date/Time:  Saturday, March 16 & 23 at 9:30am-5:00pm (participants must attend both days)

Wen-Do Women's Self-Defence 2-Day Basic Course is a 2-day basic self-defence course for women and girls (trans and cisgender) ages 10 and up.  The basic course includes a wide variety of physical and verbal self-defence techniques, awareness and avoidance of threatening situations, and discussions of sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment, and more.  This is accessible self-defence - we invite participants to look at how our bodies work right now - without changing a thing.

Wednesdays with Wen-Do

Wednesdays with Wen Do banner

Wen-Do Women's Self-Defence is a 3-hour workshop presented at 6:00-9:00pm on January 31, February 28, and March 27.  The workshops are $30/person per class or $50 for two people - bring a friend!  Each class is run as a stand-alone workshop.  Register online for one or all!
