Some Reasons Why Confirmation of Enrolment Has Not Been Processed

The following are some of the reasons why your Confirmation of Enrolment has not been processed electronically by the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office at the University of Windsor:

  • There is a mismatch between the course load percentage on your OSAP application and on your UWinsite student record.
  • An example would be, if you applied for OSAP based on 100% of a full course load and you are currently registered in only 60% of a full course load.
  • If you plan on staying in 60% of a full course load, complete the Course Load Update form to instruct our office to update your OSAP file and we will then be able to confirm enrolment for you.
  • Once you are registered in 100% of a full course load (minimum 4 of 5 courses), our office will confirm your enrolment.
  • Important for Summer: You must be registered in exactly the number of courses that you have applied for before we can confirm your enrolment.  If you are on a waiting list for a course, please contact our office so that we can confirm your intentions.
  • If you are not registered, our office will not be able to confirm your enrolment.
  • If you do not intend to register, complete the  Course Load Update form to instruct our office to update your OSAP file accordingly.
  • If you plan to take classes, once you are registered, our office will confirm your enrolment.

Students must be registered in an OSAP approved degree or certificate program.

In order that a program can be approved for funding through the Ontario Student Assistance Program, the institution must demonstrate and document that the program leads to a degree, diploma or certificate conferred by the institution AND that the program is eligible for operating grant funding by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. Programs that are considered full cost recovery programs or programs not eligible or not yet approved for operating grant funding are not OSAP eligible programs. For the purposes of OSAP, this means students are not eligible for OSAP funding or Continuation of Interest Free Status.

At this time, we have identified that the following programs are NOT OSAP eligible programs and therefore, students cannot be approved for OSAP funding and cannot be approved for Continuation of Interest-Free Status. However, for programs where the status is ‘currently under review’, once approved, these programs will most likely be OSAP eligible:

  • ANY student registered in a NON-DEGREE program
  • Faculty of Education Additional Qualification Courses
  • Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program

The following programs that are offered through the Centre for Executive & Professional Education are considered full-cost recovery programs and are not OSAP eligible:

  • Master of Management - International Accounting and Finance
  • Master of Management - Manufacturing Management
  • Master of Management - Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Master of Management - Human Resources Management
  • Master of Management - Data Analytics
  • Master of Engineering - (Automotive Option)
  • Master of Education – (International - Educational Administration)
  • Master of Education – (International - Curriculum)
  • Masters of Medical Biotechnology
  • Master of Applied Computing - Qualifying Year
  • Master of Applied Computing
  • Master of Actuarial Science
  • Master of Applied Economics and Policy (International)
  • Master of Science in Translational Health Sciences (Subject to change once reviewed by the Ministry)

Your OSAP file must be complete and free of supporting documentation requirements or restrictions.  These issues must be addressed first before we are able to confirm your enrolment.  Visit the OSAP website, and go to 'Check Status' to determine what is still outstanding on your file.  You may also visit or contact our office and we will be able to assist you.

If you have any questions regarding your OSAP file please contact our office by phone at (519) 253-3000, ext. 3300 or submit a service request via ask.uwindsor.ca
