University of Windsor Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship Deferral Policy
Requests for deferral of undergraduate entrance scholarships are considered on a case-by-case basis. Deferrals can only be granted for University-sponsored Automatic Entrance Scholarships*. Please note that donor-sponsored awards cannot be deferred.
Consideration for deferral of a University of Windsor Open Entrance Scholarship may be given to students who participate in volunteer and/or humanitarian service (such as a Rotary exchange) or who must delay attendance due to extenuating circumstances such as a serious illness or family crisis. Corroboration is required. Deferral is not available for students who take a year off to work, to attend another post-secondary institution, or to pursue personal interests for a period before beginning studies at the University.
When you apply for deferral of admission, please note that you are not automatically considered for deferral of scholarships. If you wish to request deferral of your University of Windsor Renewable Entrance Scholarship you must complete and submit the Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship Deferral Form (.pdf). Requests for deferral must be submitted by September 1st of the year in which you were offered scholarships and must be accompanied by supporting documentation from the service agency or physician (as applicable).
If granted, deferrals are one-time and do not extend beyond the ensuing academic year. You will be notified in writing of the decision of your scholarship deferral request by October 1st.
Please refer to the University of Windsor Automatic Entrance Scholarship list. Please note that the Outstanding Scholars Candidate award is not awarded automatically as candidates are invited to participate.
