With snow-covered sidewalks and plummeting temperatures, lacing up a pair of running shoes and hitting the pavement may seem daunting.

However, with tips from UWindsor alum Brittany Bellemore (BHK ’21, MHK ’23), runners can feel more confident taking on wintry conditions.

The 2025 season was a year of firsts, milestones and unforgettable moments for UWindsor Athletics.

From men’s volleyball claiming a historic U SPORTS tournament win to football hosting its first home semifinal in 35 years, the Lancers left their mark on every field, court and track.

Record-breaking performances, standout achievements and memorable family legacies were underscored by strong showings in academics and leadership.

From the court to the conference: Outstanding Scholar combines varsity athletics with research

When Abby Scott joined the Outstanding Scholars program, she was not expecting to be listed as first author on a book chapter before she finished her undergrad.  

The fourth-year sport management and leadership student didn’t even know what Outstanding Scholars was until she was invited to enrol in the program during her second year as a student-athlete on the women’s volleyball team.
