OSAP Life Cycle

Overview, & Deadlines

The ON-TIME Life Cycle of an OSAP Application

Early Spring: On-line OSAP Application goes live for the next academic year! Apply by June 30.  Pay close attention to the application deadlines!

Be sure to have the following information available:

  • Parents'/spouse's income tax paperwork, ie. T1 General Working Copy & Notice of Assessment
  • Your income information for the current taxation year (actual and estimated income figures will be required)

In the Spring, OSAP assessments should be available.  Upon submitting an OSAP application however, students are presented with an estimate of the eligibility.  The University of Windsor should have our OSAP costs approved in order for OSAP assessments to be confirmed by July 1st.

By July 15, upload to your OSAP account or submit your student and your parent's/spouse's (if appropriate) signature and declaration pages and required supporting documentation to the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office.

Without this documentation, your loans WILL NOT be released to you.

Starting in May 2018, students with a new Master Student Financial Aid Agreement (MSFAA) will be required to have their identities verified online and electronically sign and submit their loan documents. Information regarding the MSFAA process can be found on your OSAP account under the 'Required Documents' section of your OSAP application.

Within 4 to 6 weeks of you submitting your signature pages and supporting documentation, your application will be reviewed. Should any additional documentation be required, you will be contacted by email or by mail. Otherwise, your application status can be confirmed by going on-line.

Submitting an appeal for additional funding? Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for a response. If your appeal is approved, additional funding can be viewed on-line. Funding will be released to a student based on the initial application and assessment. If an appeal is approved an a reassessment is done, additional funding will issued subsequently to the student.

Confirmation of Enrolment will be done by the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office up to 10 business days prior to classes starting and will be dependent on all other documents being submitted.

Monitor your funding and account status via the OSAP website.
